An interdisciplinary meeting bringing together researchers, clinicians, engineers and industry partners working at the interface of space science and human health. The conference focuses on molecular and systems-level responses to the space environment and aims to foster new collaborations within a growing European space biomedicine community.
Short Introduction
Message from the Organizers
We are pleased to invite you to the Space Biomedicine Conference 2026 in Gdańsk. This meeting is organized in collaboration with the Military Institute of Aviation Medicine and is part of the broader Fahrenheit in Space initiative, through which we aim to strengthen interdisciplinary research at the intersection of space science, medicine and technology.
Space biomedicine is inherently interdisciplinary. It brings together molecular biology, medicine, physics, engineering and data science to address questions that cannot be approached within a single field. While its most visible goal is to support human spaceflight, its broader value lies in improving our understanding of how the human body functions under stress, adaptation and extreme conditions.
The space environment offers unique experimental conditions, including radiation exposure and microgravity, that allow us to study biological processes in ways that are not accessible on Earth.
Through this conference, we aim not only to share results, but also to contribute to building a connected space biomedicine community and a collaborative hub.
We particularly encourage early-career researchers and students to actively participate, engage and shape the future of this exciting filed.
We look forward to welcoming you to Gdańsk.
