Space Biomedicine Conference 2026

Space Biomedicine Conference 2026

5th-6th November, 2026

About the conference

The 2nd Polish Space Medicine Conference is a joint initiative of the Medical University of Gdańsk and the Military Institute of Aviation Medicine, implemented as part of the Fahrenheit in Space project. The event develops the idea of earlier meetings – from the first edition in Gdańsk, which introduced participants to the topics of space medicine and radiobiology, to the Warsaw meeting that expanded the community of researchers and institutions interested in space.

This year’s edition has a distinctly international character and focuses on a practical approach to space research. It is a space where scientists, physicians, engineers and representatives of the technology sector discuss how research conducted beyond Earth can change medicine here in everyday practice.

The programme will include, among other topics, issues related to the effects of microgravity on the human body, diagnostics in conditions of limited access to equipment, and the use of space research in emergency and military medicine. Participants will be able to learn how conditions in space help us better understand ageing processes, develop new therapies and test technologies that are later introduced into hospitals on Earth.

The conference also aims to build a strong collaborative environment in the field of space biomedicine. Its goal is to create a network connecting research, clinical and technological centres, which in the future may translate into the development of joint projects and the implementation of innovations.

The organisers are committed to an open event format, with an emphasis on discussion, the exchange of experience and networking. It is a space for both recognized experts and people beginning their journey in the world of space research.
