The Space Biomedicine Conference 2026 is jointly organized by the Medical University of Gdańsk (GUMed) and the Military Institute of Aviation Medicine (WIML), within the framework of the Fahrenheit in Space initiative.
The meeting builds on two previous events. The first meeting, held in Gdańsk (2025), introduced key topics in space medicine and radiation biology. The second, organized in Warsaw (2025), expanded the community by bringing together a broader group of Polish researchers and stakeholders interested in space-related research.
The 2026 edition is designed as a more scientifically focused and internationally connected meeting. Its primary goal is to support the development of a collaborative environment for space biomedicine in Poland and Europe.
We aim to contribute to the emergence of a space biomedicine hub - a network that connects research institutions, clinical environments, technology providers and industry partners. By integrating expertise across disciplines, this initiative seeks to enable new types of research projects and facilitate translation of space-derived insights into terrestrial medicine.
The conference places particular emphasis on interaction, discussion and community building, providing opportunities for both established researchers and early-career participants to engage and develop new collaborations.
