At the Medical University of Gdańsk, the 2026/2027 academic year begins on the 1st of October 2026 and runs until the 30th of September 2027.

Please note

  • WThe Rector’s office hours are scheduled for the day of the academic year opening ceremony.
  • *Academic classes in the summer semester for the following fields of study: Polish-language Medicine and English Division Medicine, Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics Industry, Nursing and Midwifery may continue until 30 June 2027
  • The orientation and organisational course for first-year students on English-taught studies and Erasmus+ exchange students runs from 24 September 2026 to 30 September 2026
  • The orientation and organisational course for students of the fields of Sustainable Drug Discovery and Erasmus+ exchange students runs from 15 February 2027 to 19 February 2027
  • The examination session dates do not apply to students studying under the block system, who are subject to a continuous examination session (exams take place immediately after classes for a given subject), nor to students of the fields of Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Industry, Sustainable Drug Discovery, or doctoral students
  • During the academic year, work placements in accordance with the study programme are mandatory
  • During the term-free period, summer work placements in accordance with the study programme are mandatory
  • The dates of summer holidays and public holiday breaks do not apply to doctoral students

 

The students in their final year of study, which concludes with a final examination and the defence of their dissertation, are subject to the following structure of the academic year

Part-time students do not have a semester break or a strictly defined examination session. Examinations take place immediately after the end of classes for a given subject. The resit session must be completed by 19 September 2027.
