The Medical University of Gdańsk (MUG) educates nearly 600 international students, representing about 9% of the University’s total student population. They also account for approximately 18% of all international students studying in Gdańsk. Each year, the MUG offers the opportunity to commence studies to around 150 international applicants.
For over 20 years, the University has delivered an English-language Medicine programme. The number and structure of classes fully correspond to those of the Polish-language curriculum and comply with European Union standards. The programme lasts six years (12 semesters) and is delivered by a highly qualified academic staff, ensuring a high standard of education. Other English-taught programmes include a 3-year Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, a 5,5-year long-cycle Master’s degree in Pharmacy and a 1-year Premedical Course, designed to prepare candidates for medical studies at the Medical University of Gdańsk.
Competition for admission to English-language programmes is high, with approximately 2–3 candidates per place for Pharmacy, 5–6 for Nursing, and nearly 12–13 for Medicine.
