The Doctoral Students’ Council represents doctoral candidates of the Medical University of Gdańsk in relations with the University authorities and at the national level. Members of the Council participate in the work of the Senate, Senate committees and faculty boards, ensuring that the interests and perspectives of doctoral candidates are appropriately reflected in institutional decision-making.

The Council’s core responsibilities include providing formal opinions on key documents governing doctoral education, including the regulations of the First Doctoral School, the doctoral training programme, and admissions policies.
The Council is actively engaged in the academic community through the organisation of networking events and initiatives supporting the academic and professional development of doctoral candidates. It also represents MUG doctoral candidates within national structures, including the National Representation of Doctoral Candidates and the Forum of Doctoral Candidates of Medical Universities.
The Council’s primary objective is to promote the welfare of doctoral candidates, enhance the quality of doctoral training and research conditions, and strengthen the role of doctoral candidates within the academic community. It undertakes initiatives aimed at supporting their development and addressing the evolving needs of the doctoral environment.
