Student Scientific Society (Studenckie Towarzystwo Naukowe; STN) is a student-led organization of Medical University of Gdańsk with over fifty years of history. It promotes all facets of student scientific activity at MUG, supporting both Student Scientific Circles and independent student researchers.
About
STN represents the interests of student scientists before the university authorities and conducts scientific activities as well as holds the possibility of financing student projects. The Society also aims at associating members of Student Scientific Circles and students conducting independent research and development activities on a voluntary basis. STN promotes the cooperation between Student Scientific Circles at MUG as well as provides technical and representative support for students organising scientific conferences.
One of STN’s flagship events is the annual International Student Scientific Conference (ISSC), which brings together young researchers, esteemed jury members, and guest lecturers. This year’s edition – the 31st edition of the ISSC is scheduled for March 26th to 28th, under the theme Horizons of Healthcare. New Frontiers in Science, Discovery and Medicine.
Other than ISSC, STN organizes various events which are meant to promote science and help students interested in research. The events include:
- SStudent Scientific Sessions;
- How to Science workshops;
- SKN fair;
- Meetings of Student Scientific Circles’ Council.
STN also engages on social media, sharing updates on events, workshops, and other activities organized by themselves and MUG’s Scientific Circles. The official Instagram account provides information about upcoming webinars, workshops, and competitions, fostering a sense of community and continuous learning among students.
For its activity, the organisation has been awarded the Red Rose Prize several times (the prize has been awarded since 1962 to the best students and research clubs in the Pomeranian region).

- Jesteś studentem studiów licencjackich lub magisterskich na Gdańskim Uniwersytecie Medycznym lub na Międzyuczelnianym Wydziale Biotechnologii UG i GUMed;

- chcesz rozwijać swoje umiejętności i wiedzę na temat badań naukowych lub dzielić się swoim doświadczeniem z innymi studentami.
