Assoc. Prof. Dorota Purzycka-Bohdan, M.D., Ph.D., D.Sc. from the Centre of Medical Simulations of the Medical University of Gdańsk, specialist in dermatology and venereology, has been awarded a prestigious grant from the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). The distinction is conferred as part of an international fellowship programme jointly implemented by the American Academy of Dermatology and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV).
The grant programme is addressed to early-career dermatologists and venereologists from Europe who demonstrate significant scientific achievements and research activity. In this year’s edition, three grants were awarded to laureates selected from among candidates from across Europe. The AAD grant constitutes an exceptional distinction and may be awarded to an individual only once in the course of their professional career.
As part of the grant, Assoc. Prof. Dorota Purzycka-Bohdan, M.D., Ph.D., D.Sc., will participate in the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, which will take place on 19–23 March 2027 in San Francisco, United States. The event is one of the largest and most prestigious scientific meetings in dermatology worldwide, bringing together leading experts, researchers and clinicians from numerous countries. The congress will also include an official awards ceremony for the laureates of the international fellowship programme.
