Children's day at the University

Dzień Dziecka

Nearly 500 of the youngest members of our academic community enjoyed an event organised to celebrate Children's Day. It was colourful, highly active and, above all, cheerful. The event took place on 7 June at the sports ground of the Faculty of Pharmacy of MUG.

On behalf of the Rector of our University, the picnic was opened by Prof. Michał Żmijewski, Vice-Rector for Research at MUG. He asked the children whether they remembered when Children's Day had been. When they replied that it had been a week earlier, he said that at MUG we were extending the celebration. – I wish the children a wonderful time, and I hope that such splendid events will take place every year – he said. – And Children's Day ought to be every day.

Dzień Dziecka

The youngest participants could enjoy attractions such as an inflatable playground, dexterity games, giant soap bubbles, large Lego blocks, temporary water tattoos, face painting, workshops in making braids and bracelets. A magician also appeared on stage. There was also a zone for toddlers with a dry ball pool and a 360-degree photo booth. The climbing wall and trampolines proved extremely popular. There was dancing and competitions with prizes as well.

Towards the end of the event, Prof. Michał Markuszewski, Rector of MUG, appeared, having come straight from the airport on his return from a business trip.

The event was organised by the Recruitment and Staff Development Department with the participation of the Promotion and Communication Department.
