The title of Doctor Honoris Causa is the highest academic distinction, conferred upon individuals whose scientific, professional and public contributions are of exceptional significance to the advancement of science, medicine and public life. The conferment of this distinction constitutes an expression of recognition for outstanding achievements and for the values that strengthen the authority of the University and the academic community.
The ceremonial session of the Senate of the Medical University of Gdańsk, held on the occasion of the conferment of the title of Doctor Honoris Causa upon Prof. Sir Kelvin James Anthony Davies, will take place on 8th June 2026 at 12:00 at Artus Court.
Prof. Sir Kelvin James Anthony Davies will receive the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the Medical University of Gdańsk in recognition of his outstanding international scientific achievements in the fields of redox biology, oxidative stress, adaptive homeostasis and ageing, as well as his significant contribution to the development of contemporary biomedical sciences.
During the ceremony, the laureate will deliver a lecture entitled The Redox Biology of Adaptive Homeostasis.
The event will provide a unique opportunity to meet one of the most distinguished representatives of global science and will mark an important moment in the life of the academic community of the Medical University of Gdańsk.
