About the Union

The Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk (FarU) was established at the joint initiative of the Rectors of the Medical University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology, and the University of Gdańsk. The Senates of the three institutions adopted the relevant resolutions and approved the Union’s Statute, which defines its scope of activities, governance structure, and management framework.

Key Objectives

The primary objective of the Union is to maximise the effective use of the combined resources and potential of its member universities. Its activities focus on developing solutions that support joint research and development, as well as formulating recommendations for the consolidation of existing doctoral schools and the establishment of new intercollegiate doctoral programmes.

Cooperation between the three Universities

The Medical University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology, and the University of Gdańsk have collaborated for many years across scientific, educational, and organisational domains. The establishment of the Fahrenheit Union of Universities has created new opportunities to strengthen this cooperation and to build one of the leading academic centres in Poland within the Pomeranian region.
