Event description

First Polish FH Summit 2026 is the first international scientific event in Poland dedicated entirely to familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) - one of the most common inherited disorders and an important cause of premature cardiovascular events, yet one that remains diagnosed in only a small proportion of affected individuals.

On 24-25 September 2026, Polish and international experts will gather in Gdańsk, including world-renowned specialists in FH such as Prof. Børge G. Nordestgaard, Prof. Albert Wiegman, Prof. Kausik Ray, and Prof. André Uitterlinden, as well as leading Polish experts in preventive cardiology and lipidology, including Dr hab. Krzysztof Chlebus, Prof. Piotr Jankowski, Prof. Piotr Dobrowolski, and Prof. Marlena Broncel. The conference will provide an opportunity to exchange the latest knowledge and experience in the diagnosis and treatment of FH, as well as in the organisation of care for patients with the condition. It will also serve as a platform for discussion on solutions that could be implemented within the Polish healthcare system.

The event will also be attended by representatives of key institutions, including the Ministry of Health, the Medical Research Agency, the National Health Fund, and the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tarification, all of which play important roles in shaping health policy and organising and financing healthcare.

An important element of the event will be strengthening cooperation between the medical community, public administration, and patient organisations to promote earlier detection of FH and more effective prevention of premature cardiovascular disease.
