One Health in a Changing Climate - Scientific Conference

The event

Connecting human, animal and ecosystem health.

An international event bringing together experts, researchers, academic teachers, early-career scientists, doctoral candidates and students from all ACE²-EU partner universities.

The Medical University of Gdańsk invites the ACE²-EU community to an international scientific conference dedicated to the One Health approach, with a particular focus on environmental determinants of health and the consequences of climate change.

The event will create a space for scientific exchange, interdisciplinary dialogue and the development of new international research collaborations.

From environmental evidence and biomonitoring to prevention, resilience and European action.

11 December · Practical workshops

From evidence to practical skills.

Students and doctoral candidates will work alongside specialists in laboratory-based environmental measurements and biomonitoring.

Practical workshops

Participants will develop competencies in:

  • Environmental measurements and sampling strategies
  • Assessment of environmental exposures relevant to human health
  • Environmental monitoring and data interpretation
  • Biomonitoring approaches and biological indicators
  • Linking environmental data with health-oriented research questions
  • Interdisciplinary teamwork within the One Health framework
Laboratory experience + environmental evidence + health-oriented research questions.

Working alongside specialists, participants will gain practical experience with selected methods used to characterise environmental exposure and its relevance to health.

A shared European outcome

Building HECART together.

The three-day event is designed to support the establishment of the Health, Environment and Climate Action Research Taskforce for Europe (HECART) — a collaborative platform for joint research projects, publications, grant proposals, training activities and evidence-based action within ACE²-EU and beyond.
