Profesor Suresh Rattan – wykłady otwarte

Katedra i Zakład Fizjopatologii GUMed jest organizatorem cyklu wykładów otwartych, które wygłosi prof. Suresh Rattan z Aarhus University, Aarhus Denmark. Prelekcje pt. Understanding age, ageing, health and longevity odbędą się w dniach 17-20 października br. w formie stacjonarnej w sali seminaryjnej nr 23 w bud. 13 (ul. Dębinki 7, I piętro obok Biura ds. Profesor Suresh Rattan

Profesor Suresh Rattan jest zatrudniony w Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University, Universitetsbyen 81, 8000 Aarhus, Denmark. Jest wybitnym specjalistą w zakresie biogerontologii. Jest autorem ponad 300 publikacji, jak dotychczas cytowanych 13497 razy; jego indeks H=63. Jest twórcą i redaktorem naczelnym czasopisma Biogerontology (wyd. Springer; IF 4.284, Q1).

Zainteresowania naukowe profesora dotyczą następujących dziedzin:

• starzenie i zdrowie normalnych ludzkich komórek w hodowli;
• rozwój koncepcji genów starzenia (gerontogenów)
• badanie i wykorzystanie koncepcji hormezy wywołanej przez stres i hormetyn w badaniach starzenia i interwencjach w jego przebieg
• badania nowych naturalnych i syntetycznych hormetyn pod kątem ich użyteczności w modulowaniu procesu starzenia się u ludzi.
