ACE DAY brought together the community of our University with partner institutions across Europe. All institutions belonging to the ACE²-EU Alliance celebrated on the same day, creating a network of events and meetings that fostered the exchange of knowledge, experience, and inspiration. The programme prepared at the Medical University of Gdańsk formed part of this broad European celebration, highlighting the opportunities the Alliance offers to the entire academic community.
The ACE DAY programme comprised three main thematic panels:
1. The student panel presented mobility opportunities, inter-university initiatives, and possibilities for skills development from a European perspective.
2. The teaching panel focused on modern educational methods, joint educational initiatives, and the development of teaching through international cooperation.
3. The research panel showcased directions of research collaboration pursued among partner universities, emphasising the importance of integrating academic communities and exchanging knowledge within the ACE²-EU framework.
The subsequent part of the meeting also addressed opportunities related to the NAWA and Horizon Europe programmes, as well as the support provided to researchers, teaching staff, and students by the ACE²-EU Alliance Office, including assistance in initiating international cooperation and preparing project proposals.
ACE DAY at the Medical University of Gdańsk was part of a pan-European celebration which, thanks to its online components, enabled participants to engage in events taking place simultaneously at other Alliance universities. The programme included, among others, a Virtual Coffee Session and a Virtual Escape Room, both of which attracted considerable interest from students and staff alike. Laptops were made available in the AGN space to facilitate participation in the escape room, and a prize wheel with small rewards was prepared for those who completed the challenge. This part of the event created a welcoming environment for conversation, experience sharing, and learning more about the Alliance’s activities.
The ACE DAY celebrations clearly underscored the importance of cooperation within the ACE²-EU Alliance. Through international engagement, the University strengthens its research projects and initiates collaboration with European research teams, develops teaching by implementing joint and innovative solutions, offers students new opportunities for mobility and participation in international initiatives, and builds lasting partnerships within the European academic area.
